Face-Amish No More!

Sorted under humor on February 24, 2009

Did you hear? America is not playing catch-up with the rest of the world when it comes to science and technology. We have tons of science; oodles of science, even. We’re even getting all science-y in our commercials… in a ploy to confuse the normal woman until she runs out to her closest store and buys every single “age-defying” skin care product on the shelves! Soap and moisturizers are out and “skin science” is in! Yes, we are no longer “face-amish” as Sarah Haskins puts it in the newest Target Women:

  • before going into any procedures we must know first how is it being done and if we want to try some products that are so many now in the market we should exactly know it's content before applying it on ourselves because this might cause any further damage or problem.
  • like this to be on the comment,,
  • It is actually hard to choose the right product because there are just so many out there. Those who are new at this make so many mistakes hoping that the next product that they buy is right for their skin. Thus, we all have these barely used products in our drawers.
  • that was hysterical! i love to make fun of those commercials, but i'm never that funny doing it :)
  • I don't think it's a ploy to confuse normal women - it's a ploy to confuse people who don't think before buying stuff. It's the same as all those diet pills and exercise machines that make you thinner without breaking a sweat - you put some pseudo-scientific language, couple names nobody has ever heard before and BAM! - you've got yourself a commercial aimed solely at people who can't be bothered to spend 5 minutes researching stuff they're going to use.
