Lobby for LGBT Equality in Pennsylvania

Sorted under GLBTQ on March 11, 2009

Currently, there is no state law in Pennsylvania prohibiting employment discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity; meaning someone can very well lose their job or not be hired for a job they are highly qualified for above others simply because they are gay or transgendered. House Bill 300 will change that. HB 300 would prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

On March 17, Equality Advocates Pennsylvania and the Value All Families Coalition for a state-wide lobby day in Harrisburg. Free buses are available from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh; you can reserve you seat on a bus here.

Whether you are able to attend the rally or not, please consider sending a letter to Pennsylvania State Representatives telling them why Pennsylvania needs an anti-discrimination law that protects all people in the state, not just a chosen few.
