McCain on Choice: Low-Income Women

Sorted under 2008 election, politics, reproductive rights on February 15, 2008

low income women The Republican agenda, as we have seen during Bush’s eight years in office, is to benefit the wealthy and screw the low and middle classes. McCain, who is even more strict right than Bush is no exception.

McCain has repeatedly voted to deny low income women access to abortion care except in cases of rape, incest or life endangerment.

You may be thinking to yourself–”Well, that doesn’t make any sense. If the right purely cares about the wealthy, then why would they care what even happened to low income people?” Well, the answer really is quite simple. All parents obviously want the best for their children, that’s a given. In most cases, parents want their children to live a better and even more fulfilling life, which in almost all cases, means a college education and a good job. The difference between the classes means that while one class can afford to send their children to the best schools for the best education in hopes of getting the best jobs, the other class simply lacks the funds. So what are those teenagers who dream of college and the best jobs they can get going to do?

That’s right–Join the military! If we do not give low-income women access to abortion, they will then have the child, raise the child, and once that child turns 18, they turn into property of the US government.

No abortion, more troops for future wars.

  • Nice one. I have stumbled and twittered this for my friends. Others no doubt will like it like I did.
  • what a cool cool and great analogy !

I shall stumble this post because its just cool like that. I like the fiscal conservative matter. I think the statement is not unrevealed in all cases :
"If we do not give low-income women access to abortion"
Absolutely disagree with the point " murder is the way to reduce the poor population?" But solution is within the population or society to control birth rate. what you say?
  • @ Holly. Adsense does its best to match ads to ur site. You can control it through the content on your site and even filter out the ads that are not relevant.
  • I kept my baby
So basically Brad, you're saying "let's just kill off the poor race while their still babies in their Mom's belly"?
So murder is the way to reduce the poor population?
  • The conservative (ha) party doesn't quite get a lot of things about abortion and birth control except that a good majority of their voters aren't for it, because most of them have never stopped to think about all the issues either.

    1) The fiscal conservative should be concerned with an increase in poor people, because even if they cut welfare they still are a fiscal nightmare to deal with both short term and long term

    2) There is no long term planning here since most children who grow up poor will remain low income their entire lives and low income people vote democrat by a large majority when they vote

    3) The conservative base which tend to be white and hold many racial biases, even if they aren't racists by any real sense of the word, haven't realized the fastest growing section of the low income classes are of mixed racial heritage. Decades from now when these conservative bred kids are up for jobs that will no doubt still have affirmative action applied to them they will have to compete against a lot more white enough to not be recognized as a minority but minority enough to get the job on preferences people.
  • Yes, me and Google are battling it out right now. Damn Adsense, don't believe their lies when they say that they will place ads that go well on your site!

Word, I totally agree on this... except that it isn't the responsibility of the government to give you a great life. I know enough well off teenagers who joined and are joining the military, and poor students can make something of themselves if they try. We should be teaching kids self-esteem and to follow their passions and doing other things to prevent teens joining up. Even with abortions legal, there are poor people who have babies by choice.

There is a pro-life advertisement by Google on your site right now. :/
