We Know McCain=Bush, So What’s the Problem?

Sorted under 2008 election, politics on July 9, 2008

Two days ago, a 61 year old librarian was escorted from a public McCain campaign event at the Denver Center of Performing Arts in Denver, CO. What was this woman doing wrong to get her not only escorted off of city property she had every right to be on, but also served with a court date (July 23, for those interested) for trespassing? Letting everyone know that McCain=Bush; but that was already common knowledge, wasn’t it? I don’t see the problem here and just as I thought–There really wasn’t one.

As a presidential candidate who has voted with bush 95% of the time in 2007 and 100% of the time in 2008 and who had even celebrated his last birthday with George Bush himself (Did I mention this was during hurricane Katrina? You know, the disaster that John McCain had said he would have landed his plane at the nearest Air Force base to help personally but didn’t because well, he was celebrating the day of his birth with George Bush! Yeah.) anyone can see that these politicians are buddies who agree on the issues. John McCain uses Bush’s agenda in his own presidential campaign speeches and agenda, he has built his politician standing on the same elements Bush had–So while it is obvious that McCain would indeed be another Bush, what’s the problem?

This woman was spot on in the end of the video when she asked who her sign would offend. It is a warning to liberals and democrats who refuse to accept another Bush in office and it is also a positive message to republicans and conservatives who had voted for Bush themselves the first(? and second?) times anyway.

This just shows yet another thing McCain has in common with Bush, since in 2005, the White House had three activists expelled from a Denver public forum with President Bush because it was the administration’s policy “to exclude potentially disruptive guests from Bush’s appearances nationwide.”

Politicians, just taking away your first amendment rights one event at a time. Heil America!

  • Yes i agree with you, no one want bush anymore not just is US but all of the world
  • I bet if you asked a group of 20 people. 75% of them would say that we do not want another Bush in the white house.
  • As this event took place on city property, it's quite wrong for them to kick her out. If it was on private property, then go right ahead but she had every right to be there if it's on public property.

@Sarah, our world is real bad right now. Neither McCain nor Obama have the American public anywhere close to the top of their priorities. They are rich elitist politicians who are working for the benefit of their major donors, not the public. Vote for a 3rd party if you're trying to vote for someone who is closer to and cares more about the average American.
  • That really very poor behavior. This should make us aware about Politics !

poor lady...but thats real. She didn't do anything. She just had her sign up. It goes to show how the police protects the public. Hope she got out of custody that day.
  • I believe the comments on this article are slightly one sided. Though I do agree whole heartdly that this woman did nothing wrong, and though this may sound naive, I believe that anyone as dedicated to becoming President as John McCain or Barack Obama have the good of the American public at the top of their priorites. And if this isn't true, then our world is far worse than I have hoped.
  • I can't believe this.. She did absolutely nothing wrong.
  • From an outsider's point of view, I don't have much of an opinion about McCain or Obama, but I sure am glad that Hilary is no longer on my TV screen ever day.
  • I had a bad feelings in this video. This is ridiculous.
  • This was the first time I saw that video or heard of this.. I can't believe they made her leave.. It's really quite ridiculous.
  • The government will do what it wants. I mean they can call anyone an "enemy combatant" and hold them indefinitely. This video is just an example of that.
  • Here's the direct link to the FISA Amendment Act of 2008: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bi...
  • This video looks bad but I get the feeling that I'm not seeing the whole picture here. If the video does tell the whole picture then this is clearly wrong. City property and they are preventing freedom of speech. Sad.
  • They're taking away a lot more than our 1st amendment rights. The PATRIOT Act effectively did away with our 4th amendment freedom from illegal search and seizure with this new "Sneak and Peek" initiative. Did you know it now allows law enforcement officials to come into your home without you present and search your things without your knowledge and/or consent? So long as they don't take anything, they are not required to notify you (the dweller or homeowner) for up to 30 days AFTER THE FACT (and longer if the courts give permission). That's pretty messed up! Thanks for that Bush! Neither McCain nor Obama are discussing repealing this invasive, unconstitutional Act.

Now we have the H.R. 6304: FISA Amendments Act of 2008, which threatens to further undermine the 4th amendment by providing immunity to telecom companies, allowing for unlawful surveillance of the people. You and others can read the bill (which has since passed the House) in its entirety at: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bi...
