Obama Chooses Biden

Barack Obama chooses Joe Biden Obama has chosen Joe Biden as his vice presidential candidate. My snap judgement: “Oh look, another old, white dude. Just what we need!” To say the least I’m underwhelmed or maybe that’s just me being bitter.

Admittedly, I know very little about Joe Biden. I do, however, know that he has strong roots in Pennsylvania, specifically where I was born and spent the first 20 years of my life and since Obama lost the state of Pennsylvania in the primary, I suppose it’s smart on his part to find someone with strong roots here. Or, you know, he could have picked a vice presidential candidate who won Pennsylvania. Just sayin’…

Anyway, if you’re like me and don’t know too much about this Biden character and his record, I highly suggest you go read Ann’s post over at Feministing which gives us a nice look at the man’s record. And if you have any thoughts, put it in the comments!

So, Biden helps in foreign policy matters where Obama is weak… good know? You are happy as he is hailing from PA.

  2. I really hope Obama and Biden don't win the white house. I don't really like anyone running this term.

I so need to start my own country. Something small, somewhere tropical, just a fresh start at what a country can and should be.

I'm hearing Biden was chosen less for real reasons and more because it takes Barack out of the “leftist/socialist” camp and allows him to free himself by association to someone who's more in the center.

Personally, it smells like “politics as usual”, so my enthusiasm for hope and change is lessened, to say the least. Not enough to sway the other way for a third term for Bush the 3rd, but I'm also not against writing in Mickey Mouse or “A Real Candidate” if it turns out to be more of the same with a different face =/

Obama made a huge mistake by choosing Biden in my opinion. Choosing Hillary as a running mate would have resulted in an unbeatable ticket. I guess we'll see how it all pans out…
