Now Every Girl Can Be a Pole Dancer
When I heard about this I thought it was a joke, but sadly, I was mistaken.
With fans like Carmen Electra, Kylie Minogue, the Spice Girls and Pussycat Dolls, The Peekaboo Pole Dancing Kit is a stripper pole that you can put in your home and practice how to be a real, live stripper! You know, before your 18th birthday when you can legally go give men their jollies and this way, you will already be experienced!
With their booklet of dance moves, a garter and 100 peekaboo dance dollars to reenact the real thing, this stripper pole, they claim, is a sure fire way to spice things up the bedroom or what I found a little strange…to liven up a friend’s party. I’m sorry, but who wants to go to a party where everyone gets together and dance on a stripper pole?
Now what I find truly amazing is that the makers of the Peekaboo Pole Dancing Kit recently announced that they are seeking a partner to help license their concept to Nintendo and making their pole dancing kit, which cannot support your full body weight and looks incredibly dangerous, as a game for the Wii.

Sexy Girls Play the Wii and You Should Too!
In my last post, I mentioned Nintendo’s sexist marketing strategies when it came to marketing the Wii. Just in case anyone missed the “sexy girls play the Wii and you should too” ad, which blatantly feeds off of male stereotypes, here it is:
There’s several different things wrong with that ad. After watching it for the first time I sat here thinking, “So the PS3 is educated and someone I’d actually like to converse intelligently with while the Wii is annoying and portrays a version of someone who I would like to give a book and a sandwich to? It also feeds off of the male stereotype that all men really want is someone who is blonde, a size 0, exudes sex, has no real thoughts of their own and thinks that being “cute as a button” is all that is needed to get through life. Hmm…

I love playing video games; in fact, it’s pretty much what my Sundays consist of. I play computer games most often, Empire Earth, Guild Wars and Guitar Hero III are favorites of mine, I also spent a very short time of about three days on Second Life. I also have a PlayStation3, which I could go on an insanely long rant about, particularly about their corrupt 80 gig system that just decides to die within two months, but that is a rant for another day.
I never got into the Wii, mainly because I don’t appreciate that it was targeted more towards women as a fun way to exercise and then they put out an infamous ad that appealed to the male ego and used the “sexy girls play the Wii and you should, too!” card. Besides those features, the system is just something Nintendo threw together to keep from losing (more) money to Microsoft with the Xbox and to Sony with the PlayStation. However, if I won a Wii I would give a shot, or if I happened to be at someone’s house who had it, I’d try it purely because I’m a bit interested in the console and how it works, compared to traditional video game play. Not having to actually pay Nintendo for their system makes it a bit better in my book because I would feel as if I weren’t directly supporting them or their sexist marketing strategies.
