Watch Palin read off of her notes the entire time! Fun, right? As for Biden, I was thoroughly impressed with him; he blew me away and hit it right out of the park several times throughout the debate.

I watched em last night and was actually really surprised at how well Palin did. I was expecting non stop laughs and gaffes. I thought she was a bit sarcastic though but that can only help solidify her GOP base. Biden did all right I thought, although I personally don't like either of them to much. I think people will forget this debate completely and it will have little to no effect on the outcome of the election. Not much happened in my opinion.
As other people have noted, Sarah Palin did well last night — for Sarah Palin. Expectations were so low that if she was able to string two words together, there'd be no doubt that the Republicans would spin this into a win (which they did). By any real standards of political debates, she was at the helm of the failboat. Not only did she not answer most of the questions and showed her extreme ignorance (she doesn't know what an Achilles heel is!), but she unleashed so many trite cliches and empty, rehearsed sound bites and talking points that it was painful to watch.
Biden was speaking from years of experience and knowledge. It was clear he was there for a Vice Presidential debate. From Palin's performance, it's clear that she crammed for it. She memorized talking points and buzz words, but when challenged to back any of that up, she just changed the subject. What a disaster.
