How Wrong is Fox News?

Sorted under 2008 election, media, politics on August 14, 2008

While Fox News continues to run smear reports on Obama and while an impressive amount of people are still watching Fox News and continuing to believe what they make up and call news, we have to wonder: How often is Fox News making up what they report?

Well, pretty much all the time.

I really wonder sometimes if Fox News reporters stay up at night reading and watching real news and then go into the work the next day, say that they read or saw something on Obama and then think “Okay, now how can we destroy this man’s reputation even more and make people believe it?”

“Fox is a Republican mouthpiece, not a legitimate news organization. Real news organizations must reject Fox’s smears of Barack Obama and get the real facts out.”

Tell Fox News to stop spreading blatant lies and smear reports by signing this petition. What Fox News has to say isn’t news, it’s their personal opinion presented in a light where they can say it’s fact and make others succumb to conservative bias. Get the facts and know that when it comes to news, ‘Fox News’ is just a name these people can hide behind and it’s about damn time that people know that what they may be watching and calling news simply isn’t.

  • Fox news has a long history of behaving in the manner. With the election process coming we are going to see much more of this.
  • Most people don't watch cable news for news. They watch it for entertainment. I don't believe anything I hear on Foxnews, CNN, or MSNBC. I watch them the same way I watch the comedy channel.

LOL, who made that video, the pathological lier Michael Moore? Anyone with access to thousands of hours of video could piece together a misleading hit piece about their opposition - just as has been done here.

The left only hates Fox because they're middle of the road and aren't in Pelosi's pocket; remember more than 90% of the media is made up of registered democrats. But I'm SURE they isn't any left-leaning bias in the general media, oh no...that could never happen. =^)

Let's see how "open-minded" the moderation is on this blog, will this post see the light of day or be censored because it presents a "diverse/different" opinion?
  • hehe...Fox News is in the "middle of the road"? lol Right. That's like saying Democracy Now is ultra-conservative.

As a non-Democrat (Libertarian) who's not claimed by either conservatives or liberals, I even can't stand Fox News because it's so biased and savage in its reporting. MSNBC and CNN irritate me enough but Fox has become nothing but a propaganda machine. We don't need Michael Moore to clue us into this.

A quick search on youtube.com will return plenty of uncut Fox footage of screaming back and forth, bashing and rudely talking over their guests, and cutting to commercial just when the guests finally do get a word in. I haven't kept up with how they're treating Obama, but I know full well how they treat everybody else.

Fox being used as a White House mouthpiece: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-OpIXfXKO8

Here's how they treated Naomi Klein:

  • Thanks so much for posting that video of Naomi Klein. That video is unfuckingbelievable! At the end she said that she wanted to ask a question then that dimwitted chick they have on there simply for eye candy who really has no idea what she's talking about says "Okay, but before your question" and asks a hugely loaded question and then closes the segment because Naomi can even say what she had to say! That, combined with the fact that all through the segment they were cutting Naomi off and the dude was almost yelling at her and acting like a child with "No, I heard this. You're wrong. You're wrong." is a prime example of what Fox News is--Nothing but biased propaganda and its reporters toting along the conservative rule. Thanks again for making me aware of this video!
  • If you've actually taken a look around here and specifically at the comments, you will notice that a lot of comments that present a different opinion on what I've written about are kept. The only comments that are deleted are comments that are misogynist to the point of being offensive and downright mean, comments that other reads emailed me about asking why they were left or saying that they were offended and in turn, if I deemed the comment to be offensive, it gets taken down.

As long as you're respectful to the people of this site; me, as well as other readers and commentators, you don't have anything to worry about. I'm not a hypocrite when it comes to free speech--I have my opinion and other people have their own opinion and it's possible to coexist while speaking our minds about the topic at hand without being overly offensive. So to the answer your question, I guess the moderation on this blog isn't as censored as some may think upon first viewing it.
  • Woah. I get in little arguments with people who are like, "Yeah well, give me a SPECIFIC EXAMPLE when Fox News said something untrue!" Which really kind of annoys me because I don't watch Faux News because of their habit of framing all stories about Democrats in a negative light and all stories about Republicans in a positive light, regardless of the stories or issues themselves.

Now I can point those fact-seekers to this vid and be done with that argument. Great find!

This article was useful for me. I did not know that Fox news are not real news.
  • Yes, I heard about that, Blanca. Actually, I read about it on your blog! Fucking crazy... But it isn't just Sean, it's just Fox News as a whole, which isn't really 'news,' but the video being set up as a game show was pretty funny. Disturbing to see just how many lies they've been spreading that I haven't seen because I don't let Fox News on the television here.
  • Blanca DeBree
You can't blame Sean. His mind is elsewhere right now due to the pending rape case against him in the UK.
